There are reasons for everything that happen in our lives, yet we may not know the reason when the storm occurs. It behooves us to trust God through every storm we go through because he said he will never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). As we live in this imperfect world filled with imperfect beings roaming and feeling their way through what we call living, it’s apparent that no one on this earth has the answer to this journey called Life, or how it should be lived.
We were made in the image of God to imitate him, then Adam failed the test in the Garden, and it brought about a spirit of wandering. When Jesus came on the scene and freed us from this wandering spirit, we no longer have to feel our way through life. He gave us a plan through his word of how to live our lives.
When we find ourselves dealing with different situations, just know there is a reason behind it because nothing in this life just happens. The word of God tells us not to lean on our own understanding but to trust God through every situation (Proverbs 3:5). When family and friends walk away, God is still with you. We have to stop meditating on the why’s and how’s, and start meditating on the who “Jesus”. He’s the one who saves, heals, and delivers us from all destruction (Psalm 34:19). We must be an obedient and willing participate in order to reach our planned destiny that he has for us. The journey may be a bit uncomfortable at times, but we must trust the creator who made us.
You may have to assess your approach when situations arise, but stay true to who you are. After all you are not the one with the problem, so don’t take on the blame when relationships become a bit rocky. If you know you have done everything in your power to keep the peace, don’t feel bad. You must remember that God knows the heart of every man, and he will judge. This frees us of trying to solve every problem that come our way. God wants us to come to him in every situation, and he will direct our path (Proverbs 3:6). Many times we make the situation worse by trying to defend ourselves, or prove our innocence by convincing others we are not the person we are being made out to be. We sometimes fail to realize that God is our advocate and not man. We don’t have to prove ourselves to anyone except Him (2 Timothy 2:15).
Letting go means to stop trying to fix something out of your control, so to continue is like trying to capture the wind. It’s impossible to capture something you don’t have the power to control, and you can’t control others either so let it go. In order to continue on the path God has for you, it’s imperative that you let go of any situation that is robbing you of your time and energy. God wants us to keep our mind focused on him and his word because he is peace (Isaiah 26:3). We must also be careful not to become bitter because hurt can turn into bitterness if you dwell on it too long. We are humans with feelings and emotions, but we can’t let our emotions control our lives. Remember, Jesus felt every emotion, pain, hurt, disappointment, sorrow, excitement, joy, happiness, and much more because he went to the cross enduring every emotion as a man (Isaiah 53:4-5).
Progress is impossible without change, so in order to reach the destiny God has designed just for you starts with Change. We must change our behavior, our thinking, our attitude, and our actions. God has a good plan for us if you look to him and him alone to fulfill it. You must be willing to strip everything that is hindering the blessing God has for you. So as you travel this journey if family and friends walk away, be encouraged because GOD will never walk away.
