Life After the Force of Devastation; Talking Heart2Heart

Life After The Force of Devastation...

Life After the Force of Devastation…

The circle of life is not a fairy tale, its life. Ecclesiastes 3:1 “There is a time for everything;  There is a time for everything that is done on earth:  There is a time to be born, And there’s a time to die;” Everyone will end this circle of life upon this earth, knowing this life continues to be taken for granted as if it will last forever. Love your family each and everyday without ceasing because you never know when the end is near for anyone, so love hard and purposely. Life is literally here one moment and gone the next, so it’s imperative to treasure every waken moment loving, giving, and sharing with your family. Life is ending this very moment somewhere in this world for someone. Life has a way of shaking you to the very core of your being, or to put it bluntly blind-side you. You are hit with the force of devastation before you have a chance to react, so does life exist after the devastation?

Life comes at you fast, but it can end even faster. When a loved one’s life abruptly comes to an end, the force of the devastation seems unbearable. Your emotions are uncontrollable, and you don’t know how you will ever get over such a blow. I don’t believe you ever get over losing a loved one, but God gives you the strength to cope. So yes, there is life after the devastation. It’s impossible to survive such an ordeal without the grace and mercy of a loving God. In your own strength it’s a struggle to put one foot in front of the other because it feels as if you are in the midst of a foggy cloud. The thickness distorts the view of reality until you are forced to face the truth of the matter. The mind constantly turns with unanswered questions of the how and the why. This situation is real and the devastation of it lies heavily upon you. So how do you resume to life as usual, or how do you go on with a new life? Death is never easy, but you can go on with your life again with support, prayer of others, and with God’s help.

It’s important not to blame God for any incident, accident, or death because God is the giver of life. John 10:10 “The thief’s purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.” This is an imperfect world where imperfect things happen to imperfect people, but none at the hands of God. Your life will probably never be the same, but you can go on. You have to be determined not to be swallowed up in grief. However, grieving is a normal process when someone dies because this allows you ample time to adjust to the absence of the loved one. The length of this process may vary based on the conditions of the death rather it was expected or suddenly unexpected. During the process, the sadness and emptiness should lessen more and more with time. Before long you will begin to view the situation differently.

For starters, you may experience the emotion of gratitude for the time spent with your loved one as you look to God for much-needed strength to cope with the overwhelming shock of the lost. Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds life is a gift from God. Genesis 2:7 “He breathed the breath of life into him. And the man became a living person.” Everything that exists has a purpose, and the purpose will be fulfilled. We may never understand why or how things happen, but rest assured that God does not cause accidents or deaths. James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.”

Even though the force of devastation is unexpected, you can overcome the intended effect. Devastation has a destructive power that has the ability to strip you of your will to live if you surrender and give up. You have the last say over your own life and how you wish to live it. Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and they seed may live:
