Take Control of the Storm; Talking Heart2Heart

Take control of the storm.

You must take control of the STORM in your life…

A storm is marked by strong winds, blizzards, snow, ice, hail, thunder and lightning which disturbs the state of the atmosphere. It usually causes severe destruction to lives and property. Our modern technology can foresee storms before they touch down, so it allows you to prepare yourself. You may need to board up windows, pack up and evacuate. Some may choose to stay and weather the storm, but you must take control of the storm.

When you compare a physical storm with a personal storm, the devastation can be just as painful. A personal/financial storm is inevitable because as long as you are in the earth tribulation will come. John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” While you weather the storm in your daily life, it’s important to plan. You may wonder how you might survive this storm? You must brace yourself for difficult times ahead because pressure is closely associated with a storm. Your determination, will-power, discipline, and state of mind can affect your outcome, but you must rule over the storm to weaken its power.

When dealing with personal issues, it can feel like the work of a full-time job. Shuffling things to keep some order can be a bit overwhelming. There are circumstances in life that will occur without any cause on your account, but nonetheless the storm is upon you. Now, you must make the decision to ride the storm out or to pack up and escape the situation. It’s easy to give up and to do nothing, but when you weather a storm it takes a great deal of heart and self-confidence. You must lift your head, stick your chest out and dominate the situation.

During the storm, you must be able to see the end of the storm. This gives you hope for tomorrow because it assures that things will get better. You must also have the of mind of overcoming. Even though storms can be life threatening, you can rest assure that you are not alone. When the disciples were in the storm, Jesus took control of the storm. Mark 6:48 “And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them”. God is aware of your storm, but you must acknowledge him. Proverbs 3:6 “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

The power of the storm in your life is based on you. What will you say to the storm or will you sit back and allow whatever comes your way? God has given us POWER and AUTHORITY, so you have the means to conquer. Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the  power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”. You must speak what you wish to see in your life, and what you expect to see at the end of the storm.

With that said, you can shorten your storm by saying the right words. Mark 4:39 “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Jesus took control of the storm with his words by commanding Peace be still, and the test became a testimony.
