What Are You Willing To Do? Talking Heart2Heart

Jesus gave his life

What are you willing to do for this kind of love?

As this year comes to an end, it’s important to look to the future. Don’t waste your time or energy wishing things in the past were different. It’s a memory at this point and beyond changing. The new year comes with new beginnings, and a fresh start. The things ahead of you are within reach, and you can take part in the outcome. Your dreams are unlimited, but this relies solely on you. You have the opportunity to reach for the stars. God gives new mercies everyday, so you are now facing 365 days to reach your goal. As far as you can see, it has been given to you, so what are you willing to do to get it?

Genesis 13:14-15 “The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.” It was only after Abraham had obeyed God, then he showed him what he had given him. God wants to bless you with your hearts desires, but you must be obedient to God’s word. Are you determined to receive what God has just for you? What are you willing to do?

Some dreams are in dormant because of the unwillingness to follow the plan in which God has for them. God has many gifts waiting for you, but you will only receive them on God’s terms. You will definitely need discipline, will-power, patience, and humility. God demands to be FIRST in your heart and soul because he is a jealous God. This means that there should NEVER be anyone or anything more important in your life than Almighty God. When you delight in him, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.” He will lead you to a place as he did Abraham, and say, as far as you can see I have given it to you. What are you ready to do to walk in your blessed life?

This abundant life is based on your action, and your ability to see what God has already given to you. What do you see, and what lengths are you willing to go to get it? When Jesus gave his life for the sins of the world, the blessing were a part of that package. This package has love, peace, joy, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self-control, healing, wealth, wisdom, and the list goes on and on. Theses benefits are never-ending. What are you willing to give up so that you can walk in that blessing? Jesus gave his life as a ransom for the world, and he ask that you make him your LORD and SAVIOR. Is this too much to ask? There is always an exchange in every transaction. Jesus gave his life and in return he wants your heart.

Receive the Gift of Wisdom; Talking Heart2Heart

The gift of wisdom

Receive the Gift of Wisdom as an Act of Love…

What is wisdom? It’s the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement; the quality of being wise. The characteristic of wisdom is common sense and good judgement. Wisdom comes from each experience of life, and it’s the result in sound actions and good decisions with regards of the outcome, and it’s effects. A person who makes good decisions look at the pros and the cons, and ponders on the outcome. Wisdom is as valuable as money because it’s money in the bank. The gift of wisdom is the way to a successful life.

Godly wisdom comes from the Spirit of God. James 3:17-18 “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be in treated full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.” The one who receives the gift of wisdom walks in humility, and acknowledges the power of almighty God.

Wisdom can be viewed as an investment in your future. The investment is made in good faith because your future is worth taking a risk. When wisdom is offered, it’s done with the intention of helping. Some times it’s looked upon as telling you what to do, or trying to control your life. On the contrary, it’s to help you discover the joys of life. Wisdom should always be viewed as a way of bettering your life. It’s impossible for anyone to know everything, so accept the wisdom for your benefit. Wisdom is proven by experiences, knowledge, and life. It’s a gift given to better the lives of others as well as your own.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraided not; and it shall be given him. Wisdom is a gift from God, so when you reject wisdom you are rejecting GOD. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

When you grasp the understanding of wisdom, you are accepting an act of love from one generation to another. This love is meant to steer you in the right direction as you embark upon life’s unknown curves and turns. You can look at it as someone always having your back, and as you know the journey of life is much more pleasant if you are not alone. So will you open your heart and mind to this gift of wisdom? I look forward to hearing your opinion on the subject of the gift of wisdom.

Will the Spirit Remain? Talking Heart2Heart

Spirit of Love

Will the Spirit of Love Remain Even After the Christmas Season?

Christmas day is a celebration of the King’s birth as well as his awesomeness. Many celebrate his birth by being thankful, loving, sharing, giving, and enjoying family gatherings. It’s the spirit of the Christmas season that makes it different from other celebrations. Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” The birth of Jesus was a gracious gift to the world, so we celebrate by giving gifts, decorating the tree with lights, putting up bells, and wreaths, playing Christmas Carols, and having parties to celebrate the occasion. It’s the most exciting time of the year with expectancy and excitement in the air as the Christmas day unfolds. It’s a time of witnessing the overwhelming joy on faces as you rejoice in that moment. Will the spirit remain? This spirit is a personal choice that only you can control.

Can you imagine the effect if the spirit of love continues throughout the year as if everyday is Christmas. The spirit of Christmas is derived from a gift of love (Jesus), and this is a gift that should be re-gifted over and over. When Jesus was born, the expectation was so electrifying that the news was world-wide. People traveled from near and far to see and bless the “Hope of Glory.” As LOVE entered the world through Jesus Christ, darkness and hate didn’t stand a chance. So when you share love all year you attack hate at the root.

Are you willing to keep the spirit going? Let it be said that you are guilty of giving, sharing, and loving others on purpose without any particular holiday in mind. You can make a difference in the lives of many by giving from the heart. John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give to you, that you live one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” As Jesus is the reason for every season, and he is worthy to be praised for bringing hope into the earth.

A Hidden Culprit; Talking Heart2Heart

A Hidden Culprit

A Hidden Culprit Seeks Whom He May Devour..

Life has a way of shaking you to the core with overwhelming issues like grief, sadness, and disappointments just to name a few. No one is exempt from this journey called life, yet it can be quite different from others. This is based on your thoughts, decisions, and actions. Have you ever wondered how your life ended up in its present state? Have you ever tried to retrace the steps you took to arrive at this point in your life? I’m willing to bet you that a hidden culprit is in the mix. This culprit is your tongue.

Many fail to recognize the power in which the tongue has, and how it determines your destiny. This culprit is overlooked because it’s such a small member of the body. The amount of damage is enormous compared to its size. Proverbs 18:21 “The tongue can bring death or life, those who love to talk will reap the consequences.” You have the power to bring peace and joy or destruction in your life by what you say. Many times you may feel that your struggle in life just won’t end, and you can’t seem to get out of the pit. Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

You have authority over this mysterious culprit, so take control of your tongue with direct thought. When you direct your thoughts, you give them purpose. Think about what you want to occur in your life and only say it. This is how you control your tongue, and you make it line up with the word of God. This concealed culprit has a mind of its own, but it will only do what you allow. James 1:26 “If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.”

This secret culprit wants to bring fear and destruction upon you, and the desire is to enter through your tongue. The opposite of faith is fear, and you power both of them with your words. Job said it best. Job 3:25 “For the thing which I greatly feared has come upon me and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.” In other words, what Job was saying eventually showed up in his life by the power of his words. How will you defeat this hidden culprit?

Take Control of the Storm; Talking Heart2Heart

Take control of the storm.

You must take control of the STORM in your life…

A storm is marked by strong winds, blizzards, snow, ice, hail, thunder and lightning which disturbs the state of the atmosphere. It usually causes severe destruction to lives and property. Our modern technology can foresee storms before they touch down, so it allows you to prepare yourself. You may need to board up windows, pack up and evacuate. Some may choose to stay and weather the storm, but you must take control of the storm.

When you compare a physical storm with a personal storm, the devastation can be just as painful. A personal/financial storm is inevitable because as long as you are in the earth tribulation will come. John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” While you weather the storm in your daily life, it’s important to plan. You may wonder how you might survive this storm? You must brace yourself for difficult times ahead because pressure is closely associated with a storm. Your determination, will-power, discipline, and state of mind can affect your outcome, but you must rule over the storm to weaken its power.

When dealing with personal issues, it can feel like the work of a full-time job. Shuffling things to keep some order can be a bit overwhelming. There are circumstances in life that will occur without any cause on your account, but nonetheless the storm is upon you. Now, you must make the decision to ride the storm out or to pack up and escape the situation. It’s easy to give up and to do nothing, but when you weather a storm it takes a great deal of heart and self-confidence. You must lift your head, stick your chest out and dominate the situation.

During the storm, you must be able to see the end of the storm. This gives you hope for tomorrow because it assures that things will get better. You must also have the of mind of overcoming. Even though storms can be life threatening, you can rest assure that you are not alone. When the disciples were in the storm, Jesus took control of the storm. Mark 6:48 “And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them”. God is aware of your storm, but you must acknowledge him. Proverbs 3:6 “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

The power of the storm in your life is based on you. What will you say to the storm or will you sit back and allow whatever comes your way? God has given us POWER and AUTHORITY, so you have the means to conquer. Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the  power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”. You must speak what you wish to see in your life, and what you expect to see at the end of the storm.

With that said, you can shorten your storm by saying the right words. Mark 4:39 “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Jesus took control of the storm with his words by commanding Peace be still, and the test became a testimony.

Talking Heart2Heart About A Gift You Can’t Return

The Gift You Can't Return

THE GIFT OF FAMILY…A GIFT YOU CAN’T RETURN…

Talking heart2heart about a gift you can’t return is perfect timing in this Christmas season, but this is not the usual gift you might receive for Christmas. This is a gift that everyone receives, and it doesn’t matter if you like it or not. You have to keep this gift and learn to love it. This gift comes as is, and you have to accept it as it is. It is given to you without your comments, opinion, thoughts, or your cooperation. You can’t even refuse this gift because it is basically out of your control. This is the gift of “FAMILY”, and you have no say so in which one you are born into. 2 Corinthians 6:18 “And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”

The family is under a threat of breaking down the foundation of which it stands. Family should stand together through good and bad times as the bonding power strengthens them. It’s important to have a heart2heart about the value of family, and why you can’t give this gift back. You may have family members who you would like to divorce, but what can you do accept pray and love them? You are in the family you are supposed to be in because everything has a purpose. You have to find your purpose within your family, so you can’t return your family for another. Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

In the family the blood line runs deep because of the generational history, so you have to accept your family as the intended gift. But family is no longer of blood relation only because it’s about building solid long-lasting relationships. It’s a group of people vowing to be there through thick and thin no matter what. Can I trust you to be there? This is the main question asked because the reassurance is comforting.

The foundation of family is trust and dependability. It’s structured to carry the weight of family situations as well as offer a support system to cushion the blows as they surface. The family is a jewel and should be treasured. It’s important for family to connect spiritually because family originated from the spirit of God. Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The gift of FAMILY is wrapped in unconditional love, trust, and support as it exposes the very essence of who you are at the core of your being. The family covers you and at the same time exposes. Why would you even consider returning such a priceless gift? The value is in the LOVE and COMMITMENT toward each other. I hope talking heart2heart about a gift you can’t return has given you a different perception of the gift of family.

The Pieces of the Puzzle; Talking Heart2Heart

Forcing pieces of the puzzle to fit will change the expected picture...

Forcing pieces of the puzzle to fit will change the expected picture…

Have you ever thought of life as a puzzle? The pieces of the puzzle must connect and fit before you can see the picture. The life journey is different for all, nonetheless the pieces have to connect to bring your expected life into view. Everyone seems to have the perfect life in mind, but many fail to plan how to arrive there. For some the pieces to the puzzle sometimes don’t fit, so they force them to fit. This is due to lack of planning, and without a plan it’s easy to get distracted. When you lose focus, you may try to force pieces of the puzzle to fit. You are allowing a misfit to distort your picture instead of continuing the search for the correct piece. Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

You may have experienced relationship or friendship issues as well as some personal situations gone bad. This is bound to happen when you continue to force something that’s clearly NOT a fit. Since you don’t have a plan to follow, you are literally going through the motion of life without a guide. You search day in and day out for the correct pieces to fit your puzzle of life. You have some heart breaks along the way, but you can’t figure out why your life is in such disarray. Your life seems to be upside down with no sanity in sight.

As you travel the road of life with mistakes and all, your downfalls should become lessons learned. While you are forever learning on this journey, now you know what not to do. You should use mistakes to learn, but there is no need to revisit them. Now it’s time to make a plan to avoid making the same mistake. Your plan is a guide in which you should follow while you seek for the pieces of the puzzle. The puzzle of your life depends on you connecting the pieces that fit. You may come across a piece that almost fits, but don’t settle for almost. You are on a mission to complete the puzzle, so you can see the picture in its entirety.

During this mission, you must direct your attention on the expected outcome. Proverbs 16:3 Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. You are looking for pieces that will compliment your life, pieces with goals and values, pieces with character, pieces with integrity, so the bottom line is to connect the pieces of the puzzle that will allow you to view the puzzle. So if that special someone fits in your puzzle, the goal is for the two of you to continue adding pieces that fit. Now the puzzle is expanding with the pieces that fit as they are added to the puzzle as a joint effort.

However, there is no such thing as the picture perfect life, but a planned life with goals will get you closer to the life you want. This is a never ending puzzle because you should continue to search for pieces to your puzzle. It’s your responsibility to connect the pieces of the puzzle, so make sure you only add pieces that fit. A rule of thump is NEVER force a piece to fit because it will change the picture. There will be some mishaps from time to time, but referring to your plan will put you back on the right track. The picture of your puzzle is based on you connecting pieces that fit. Are you connecting the correct pieces in your puzzle of life?

I would like to hear your thoughts on this topic. Please leave your comments below:

The Blessing in Giving; Talking Heart2Heart

THE BLESSING IS IN THE GIVING...

THE BLESSING IS IN THE GIVING…

This season can be a difficult time for some for different reasons, especially during a challenging economy. Some dread this time of year, some are depressed, but for others it’s their favorite time of all. This all depends on how you approach the Christmas season. If you look at this time from the stand point of commercialism, then you may fall in the group of dreading the Christmas season. On the other hand, you may be doing all you can and still fall short on the necessities, so Christmas adds more stress. Christmas is the time of sharing, loving, and giving to others. Blessing others has a great return as the giver is abundantly blessed. Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down; shaken together, running over, they will pour into your lap. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”

It’s the perfect time to lend a helping hand to others in need. We are blessed to be a blessing to others. Acts 20:35 I have shown you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. The blessing is in the giving of the gift.

When there is a need, you have the opportunity to make a difference. You step outside of yourself and step into the world of others. Being a blessing in the time of need is an attitude of the heart. It is a selfless, compassionate, generous act. Blessing others gives your heart a feeling of warmth filled with joy. When you give without expecting anything in return, the reward is the feeling it’s gives the receiver. The blessing in giving is allowing the receiver to experience the love and care from the heart of the giver. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven.

There are great benefits of giving when it genuinely flows from the place God dwells. 2 Corinthians 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. The one who purpose in their heart to bless will receive a blessed reward. So this season make the dreams come true for others, and God will bless you in a way you never imagined. What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you. Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Love is felt only when you give it away to others. Share God with others because God is Love. Are you about your father’s business? Are you blessing others as your father has taught you to do?

Gift of Love; Talking Heart2Heart

CHRIST IS THE GIFT OF LOVE TO ALL THE WORLD...

CHRIST IS THE GIFT OF LOVE TO ALL THE WORLD…

This is the Christmas season with the beautiful lights shining brightly during the night, and the lovely Christmas songs constantly playing everywhere you go. The beginning of Christmas is Christ who is the gift of love. Unfortunately, the real Christmas has been buried in an overbearing spirit of materialistic items. Many rush to buy the latest toy or the hottest electronic for their kids. When these items are purchased, it’s with the knowledge of knowing you can’t afford such items. But the pressure of trying to live above your means gets the best of you.

The true meaning of Christmas is misrepresented in our society. Christmas is the annual Christian festival celebrating Christ’s birth, held on December 25, but the world has gotten away from the true meaning of Christmas. Christ was born to bring the world hope, joy, peace and comfort. God gave the world this magnificent gift of love wrapped into his son Jesus on Christmas day, so we need to celebrate the truth in the meaning of Christmas.

Christmas is not about presents, toys, lights, cards, stockings, or even the Christmas tree. It’s the gift of compassion for a dying world without any regards for the life of his only begotten son. He sent his son to save us, so that we may live. Christ means the “anointed one” or “the Lord’s anointed” which was used to refer to a King. Well, Jesus is our King, and he is Lord of Lord. Christ is the chosen King by our God, and he walked and operated as a man in the earth. The seed was planted in the womb of a chosen woman to carry this gift of love. He is the son of God, but born from the womb of a woman by the Spirit of the Holy Ghost.

In this Christmas season remember the truth as it is written in (Isaiah 9:6-7) For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgement and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

God gave the world the greatest gift of adoration for Christmas, his son Jesus Christ. So he should be at the center of the celebration of Christmas. It’s the time of reflecting on the love Christ brought into the earth at his birth. Christ is the light that forever shines upon us to remind us of hope. This Christmas can be a new beginning for you by receiving Christ into your heart, and you can rest in the joy and peace he gives. He gives peace that surpasses all understanding. The gift of love will be with you forever, so you don’t have to wait until Christmas to receive gifts.

During this time of year it’s easy to lose focus, with so many commercials and advertisements of products. It’s important to remember the Christ in Christmas because he gave the gift of charity to all the world. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in him should not perish but shall have eternal life. I hope this will be a Christmas to remember as you share the love of Christ this Christmas. John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Christmas is celebrated by many in the traditional way of decorating Christmas trees with lights, and giving gifts to others. It’s fine to have a traditional Christmas as long as the focus is on the Christ and not the gifts under the tree. James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Change is Now; Talking Heart2Heart

Change starts with a decision...

Change is now because it starts with a decision…at the moment

We are in the month of December with only weeks left before the year ends. So as we draw closer to the end of 2013, some may think about the newness ahead and what it means to them. Many may look forward to making a New Year’s Resolution, while others dread facing another year without meeting the pass set goals. The problem with resolutions is the delay of putting it off until the first of the year. Change is now, and unless you are willing to put it to work immediately you are setting yourself up for failure. When you put things off, you allow yourself time to come up with reasons why (NOW) is not the time to make the change. But when you have the attitude that change is today you are in control of your destiny.

There is a process in making a change of any kind. If you are considering a change, you must first have the first thought. Change is at the moment when you make the decision to change. Then you must have a plan of how you will make the change, and the effects the change may bring. It is also important to set a realistic goal of the expected time of the change. You must also have patience, discipline, will-power, and determination to make the necessary changes in your life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Change is doing something different, moving to something different, or to cause to be different. In other words, change is a right now course of action. But in the process of changing take it one day at a time. You may not cross every T or dot every I every time, but don’t give up.

Change will forever be taking place around us with or without our cooperation. Many are very hesitant about change because of the unknown or unexpected; it feels as if you are not in control. Some changes are beyond your control, but you must come to terms with it. When you learn to cope with unexpected changes, it makes the transition smoother. When change occurs, there is an obvious transformation. A real change starts deep within your inner-being, and it will work its way out for all to see.

The activity of change is work, and it can be a constant battle in motion. The process of change can very easily be compared to a battle. You may have scars or wounds after a battle, but you can survive. Change will give you a different outlook on life because it allowed you to step outside of the norm. So embrace change as it is inevitable throughout your lifetime and beyond. It is also beneficial to your growth and progress as you journey on this life cycle. Please leave your comments below.
