Thanksgiving Day, Giving Thanks

Encourage and Inspire Others

Call upon God

I recently watched a video on Youtube of a young man named Nick Vujicic who was born in Australia. He has traveled to 24 countries preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, and sharing his testimony of how God changed his outlook on life. He wanted to encourage and inspire others to face each day with gratefulness and great expectations. Nick is not like any other guy because he was born without ARMS or LEGS. He has a small foot on his left hip which helps him to balance. He also uses it to write, type, and to pick things up between his toes.

He talks about having a hard childhood, and how he wanted to die. He thought God didn’t love him because he was born without arms or legs. At age 15 he realized that he could live a life of joy, or he could live his life feeling sorry for himself and being sad. He could continue to have a complaining attitude or he could have a grateful attitude. At that moment he gave his heart to God, and asked him to use him for his Glory. He prayed for a miracle but instead God said, you are a miracle that others will see as an inspiration. They will know that God is with you as you preach the word of God.

Nick had to overcome hopelessness to walk in the path God had ordained just for him. It’s obvious that no one else could do what he is doing. God has a plan for each of us, but willingness and obedience is essential to being in the will of God. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I thin toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Nick shares a very clear message of being grateful for what you have and using it as a tool to motivate others. You may not have everything you want, but God gives you everything you need. Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.

Nick is not limited in his life at all. He swims, surfs, plays golf, football and a number of other activities. Through the word of God he knows he can do all things through Christ. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Early in life, Nick stated that he would never meet anyone that would love him. Nick is now married to the love of his life, and he has a healthy 3 month old son.

If Nick can press his way through life day after day without arms or legs, then what do we have to complain about. He chooses to strengthen that which remains with a gratefulness. How many use life situations to give hope to others? We all have something to offer this world in one way or another. I am convinced that we are here to be of service to each other. But some are so wrapped up in their own struggles it’s impossible to see a need in others. It’s time to stop complaining about your life and start being grateful to God for what you do have. There is always a situation worse than yours, so be grateful. Life is not fair, but God is Faithful.

Are you willing to change your complaining attitude to a grateful attitude? Complaints are merely flesh reacting to a feeling of being wronged in some way. God does not respond to complaints because he is a God of FAITH. If Nick can offer everything that he has by the power of God that dwells inside of him, then surely you have something you can offer someone else. You have a gift inside that you can share with the world. There is a gift within us all, but you must be willing to share that which God has given you.

This has been a very touching story that I hope will open eyes wide enough to see that life is what you make of it. Your life will only be as fulfilled as you purpose it to be. There is a purpose for life, but you must seek your purpose of how you are to contribute to others on this earth. If this post has inspired you in any way, please leave comments below.

Little Girls, Princess, Lady

It’s Two Things A Lady Should Be:  CLASSY & FABULOUS

Do you remember the quote little girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice? This is a traditional rhyme of what little girls are made of…because they are sweet, delicate, soft and prissy. Little girls dressed-up as princesses, had tea parties with her dolls as the guest. They were little ladies by nature. They demonstrated role play of little girls, princess, lady at its best. The also had the nurturing instinct as they mothered their dolls and cared for them. They took on the role as mothers automatically, and they spent hours on hours with the dolls they called their babies.

As little girls continue to grow, now they dress up in mommy’s clothes and high heels. They are still the princess but a more grown up one as they parade in the mirror pretending to be little women. The transition begins as they approach the years of preteen, teenage and even young adulthood. They become more aware of their appearance as they get older. They want to wear certain colors, fashion clothing, latest hairstyles, finger nail polish, and lip gloss. At a young age little girls are aware of looking and feeling pretty. It builds self-esteem as well as confidence. It’s apparent that appearance plays a big part in the way you feel about yourself. So encouraging young girls to look their best is essential to producing a well-rounded young woman.

God looks in the heart, and he is simply saying not to make appearance more important than the heart of a person. Unfortunately, this society judges by what is seen. Appearance definitely has its proper place of significance. There are times when your appearance is crucial to your success, such as Job interviews, Careers, and Promotions. This is the real world and the reality of it. With that said, how important is an appearance to you? I hope you love yourself enough to always offer your best self. The first impression is your appearance because it’s the first thing people see, so do it with a bang. Your appearance sends direct, loud and clear messages about your attitude, personality, dress code, hygiene and grooming.

The way young women present themselves to the public today is quite different from the past. The attitude of don’t care has invaded the minds of many of them. They go out in public in their pajamas, bedroom shoes and rags on their heads all of which should ONLY be worn inside your house. When you wear this attire outside, you give the impression that you have not bathed so your hygiene becomes a concern. Don’t put yourself on display for any negativity because you don’t have to be a product of your environment. (Proverbs 31:10) Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. You can be a virtuous woman, and when the right MAN not THUG wins your heart he will know you are the PRIZE. You want to be in a place to receive the best, but to do that you must first present your best. Remember the PRINCESS inside of you, and how looking pretty made you feel as little girls. You were created to be a LADY, so you must carry yourself accordingly.

Success is taking the high road and not following the crowd on the low road. You have to separate yourself from the THUGS and THUGGETTS to achieve the life you want. It’s an attitude of heart that will determine your success. You are in control of your own destiny, and it’s up to you which avenues you take to arrive there with the least amount of detours. I would like to hear your reaction on this topic, so please leave your comments below.

One Chance At Life

1 life 1 choice

How will you live the one life you have? It’s your choice.

As this year draws to an end, can you honestly say that your life has improved in one way or another?  Is there positive growth that has changed the direction of your life? Life is symbolic with time it waits for no one, and it will move along with or without your cooperation. It’s something you must face head on if you want to live your best life. There are no instructions on how to succeed at life, but grasping life skills such as discipline, focus, positive attitude, and obedient to God’s word  will help you along your journey. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will shall direct thy paths. You have one chance at life, so it’s important to approach it with caution.

We are all dealt the hand of life, but it depends on how you play that hand. Some may be willing to gamble against the odds while others play it safe and fold. When you gamble against your life, you do so without seeing the other players hand. In other words, you make your move by impulse, or before giving thought to the situation at hand. You are playing rushing roulette. When you fold, you simply want to observe the matter before leaping. By folding it allows you an opportunity to check the Pro’s and Con’s. James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. You literally have one hand of life to play, so do it intelligently. On the other hand, there are times in life when you have to take risk in order to test your own judgement.

Life is a one-way street with several stops along the way, but there is no turning back during your travel on this street. With one shot at life there are no do overs, but you can always start fresh from your present position. There is no one with that perfect life, so if you miss the mark from time to time don’t sweat it. You should use those failures as stepping-stones and lessons learned. As long as you continue moving forward with a positive attitude, you will eventually reach that expected outcome. Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. With that said, I hope you take advantage of your one time at life with great possibilities ahead. There are many choices in life, but choosing the right one is key on this one-way street to a successful life.

Expose Your Heart to Others

Expose Your Heart to Others...

Expose Your Heart to Others…

There are holiday celebrations that comes in the Fall of the year that changes the scenery, and Fall is evident with the colored leaves as they fall from their resting place onto the ground. Some trees are bare, and the sky has a dreary cast with a crispy chill in the air. This is the season for candy apples, cotton candy, hay rides, and pumpkin pie. It’s the time of giving and being thankful for your many blessings. It’s also a time to expose your heart to others by giving without expecting anything in return. Giving is an attitude of the heart that leads as you follow its command.

As Thanksgiving approaches with Christmas trailing closely, it’s a great opportunity to share your wealth with others. Giving to others from your heart is such a rewarding experience, and it expresses the love of God. This is an indication of who God is as a whole because God is Love. 1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him. It exemplifies the scripture about loving thy neighbor as thyself. When you open your heart up to others, you are putting the needs of others above your own needs. It reveals unselfishness.

The holiday season of Thanksgiving and Christmas can be a difficult time for some because of the added pressures. The need is great during this time, so show others that sharing and giving still exist. God unveiled his heart to the world by giving his only begotten son to the world. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

When you use the contents of your heart to bless others, you instantly connect with God. You display that God can trust you with wealth, and you are willing to distribute to the less fortunate. Proverbs 11:24 One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another witholds unduly, but comes to poverty. The true message is in the giving. One of the most important outcomes of exposing the goodness of your heart to others is the impact you make on the receiver.

What is True Success?

Do You Have the Missing Ingredient to Success?

Do You Have the Missing Ingredient to Success?

What is Success? Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, but true success is accepting God into your heart and allowing him to lead, and he will order your footsteps. Our society has taught us to believe that money and fame is the perfect picture of success. Hollywood has painted a false image of success, and even though many fit this description there is still something missing. The missing link to true success is God, and the peace that he gives even in the midst of chaos and disarray. John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

As children, the life of Celebrities, Rap Artists, and Comedians seemed exciting. It even appeared to be the picture of success because of money and fame. While having several cars, designer clothing, living in a mansion, and having a circle of friends with six figure incomes, this is far from true success.

What is success if you are sick, if you can’t sleep at night, if depression is crippling your life, or your family is falling apart? Success can not heal you, give you joy or peace, set you free, deliver or save you. So with that being said there are limits to what your success can do alone. 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosper. If God is not the core of your success, you tend to put your trust in the things that you own.

When this success comes to an end, you are left broken and without hope. God is that hope of glory, and he wants you to have the best of everything, but you must first make him your everything. It’s the word of God that will make your way prosper, and this is true prosperity. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

If your success does not include God, the one who created heaven and earth, the one who made you in his image, the one who gave his only begotten son, then you are missing the key to true success. Matthew 16:26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? When you understand true success, you give thanks to God the giver of all gifts.
